Competitions, gardening and feeling pooped!!

Well, this post comes to you after a busy weekend in my garden! I have been a bit under the weather (I have ME/CFS and depression) and my poor garden has been the one that took the brunt of my lack of energy in the last 2 years. Even though every bit of me now aches, and I am feeling utterly shattered, the work I have managed to do in the last three months, and especially this weekend has left me finally feeling proud of it once more! I still have a long way to go, but little bit, by little bit it is getting there. It made me realise, that writing is much the same as gardening has become for me now. I used to be a 'do a load when I have the time' girl. but now, because of my health problems I have to do little bits and often. For both my garden, and my writing I think that this has really helped me to create better books, and a more pleasant place to relax once I have done my writing for the day! I certainly get things finished so much quicker now!! An Aristocratic Awakening took me 6 years to finish, whereas A Date With Destiny only took about 6 months. I am hoping that my current book, for a competition submission, will be completed in just six weeks!! The key to this has been making sure that I focus on just one task at a time. I pop my phone on airplane mode, and I just write. I don't edit as I go along any more, I just keep going until I have the story complete. Then I edit - adding, cutting, moving and amending! Even this has gotten easier and I am much more focussed about it. I really hope that you will begin to see the fruits of my new approach, but obvioulsy it could be some time before I get to announce the release of my current book as it goes through the competition process. However, I will be working on a few shorts, like Coming Home so hopefully I will keep your addiction to Rosie Mac Romances fuelled!

Apoloigies for such an apalling lack of news!

So sorry to you all. I know you love your updates on upcoming books and love to get a peel into the inner workings of Rosie Mac Romance HQ! Life has been quite crazy, and between a large number of ghost writing gigs, holidays, and family chaos I have had little time to keep you updated.

I have been working on something a little new, and I really hope you are going to enjoy it. The Lovely and I spent a wonderful week in Carcassonne and the beautiful countryside all around it. I can firmly recommend it if you like mountains, medieval cities and lots to keep you busy! It made me really want to write a historical romance, so please give me some time to get it done as I really want to get my facts straight!

Coming up this week are the RITA's! These are the Oscars of the Romance Writing World, and for the very first time they will be streamed live! This is so exciting, as it means I get to spend an evening watching all the great ins this industry receive their just rewards. Romance is such a thriving genre, with so many truly talented writers. Brand New Book! Coming Home is finally here :-)

I am so ridiculously excited today! It is launch day for Coming Home!

Coming Home is a short story, and it is part of the Castle Cluny Romance Series.

Anna is a headstrong and bubbly girl, determined to prove to the world that she is good enough and that she can take care of herself. She finds herself stuck on the other side of the world with no money and no friends.

Jim is her childhood sweetheart and a solid and stable guy who arrives unexpectedly to save her!

Tom is the local stud. He is sexy and cheeky and just a little bit dangerous.

Who will she choose?

COMING HOME is available FREE for the next three days only in the Kindle Store!

I need your help and brilliant eyes!

Okay everyone - I need your opinions!

I have some fantastic 'possible' covers for the re-launch of An Aristocratic Awakening.

I would love your feedback to help me choose which one of 8 to go for! So today, we start with these three. Please can you give me reasons why you lik bits, of you would put different bits in, or if there are bits you would remove!

Thanks you help is much appreciated! There will be a further 3 tomorrow, and then 2 on Monday to critique for me - then I will pick the top three, and you will have a week to post your favourite ;-)
